Certain things in life don’t make sense, others do. There are some things that seem to just fall into place perfectly. There are so many unanswered questions that roll over my mind on a daily basis. I am curious about so many different things. One thing I am sure of is there will always be an enhanced style of living with greenery and plants around. Last Summer I had a Christmas Cactus that had definitely seen better days. I hate giving up on things, so I decided to put it in the back of the yard and see if anything happened to it over the season. I ignored the plant pretty much for about three months. I was cleaning up the yard after a beautiful summer of planting and noticed that the cactus was still green. I decided to bring it indoors for the Fall and Winter. It still looked a bit sick, but I kept hope alive. It kept growing, but it hadn’t bloomed when it typically was supposed to. I moved it from what was a somewhat shady area in my house to a window with subdued nice sunlight throughout the day. Before I knew it, March had arrived with a heat wave. I noticed a few buds that were starting to grow. I laughed to myself and realized that we really should never give up on plants. They have a way of surprising us at just the right time. I have a few pictures below of the Christmas Cactus and a few other of my favorite plants this Spring. If your favorite plant looks like it just got done with a month long party bender, do not give up on it, it just may bounce back more radiant than ever.
